A chaplet is a form of Roman Catholic prayer that uses prayer beads, but isn't always related to the Rosary. Some chaplets have a strong Marian connection while others are more directly related to Jesus or the Saints. Chaplets are considered "personal devotionals." There is no set form so chaplets vary considerably. Often they have fewer beads than a traditional Rosary, and a different set of prayers
A litany is a well-known and much appreciated form of responsive petition, used in public liturgical services, and in private devotions, for common necessities of the Church, or in calamities – to implore God’s aid or to appease His just wrath.
